Before you know it, your little ones will be all grown up, they will have flown the nest, and they will be taking their own little family on holiday. While they are still young and you still have them, then, you should seek to take them to as many family-friendly destinations as you possibly can — if you don’t, you’ll only regret not doing so at a later date.

When it comes to finding the perfect places to take your kids, where better a place to start is there than in the UK? Across the length and breadth of Britain, there can be foundcountless amounts of fun things to do with your children.

Here are four places in the UK that you should visit with your kids:

Science Museum, London

Found in the heart of South Kensington, the Science Museum will be sure to keep your kids entertained and interested for the duration of the time you and them spend there together. There are, of course, a number of educational benefits to be gotten from a visit here, as well — your kids’ inquisitive minds will be stimulated and their knowledge of science will be advanced.

Thorpe Park, Surrey

If your kids really are adrenaline junkies(provided they meet the height requirements in place on most of the rides), then they will also enjoy a trip to Thorpe Park. This theme park is the perfect place to take the kids when compared to the other parks that are dotted around Britain. The temperature isn’t as low here as it is in Blackpool’s Pleasure beach, there are more rides here than there are at Drayton Manor, and there isn’t as much walking required here as there is at Alton Towers.

Not a big lover of rollercoasters yourself? Fear not, as there are many destinations in the surrounding Surrey area that will be sure to make your trip to this part of the world enjoyable. Surrey is known for its country pubs, such as The Flintgate in Weybridge, for instance, so you will always be able to enjoy a nice spot of lunch and a punchy IPA.

Camera Obscura, Edinburgh

Despite it being one of Britain’s oldest attractions, nothing will keep your children entertained quite like Camera Obscura. Here, your kids will be able to enjoy six floors of puzzles, games, special effects, optical illusions, magic, smoke, and mirrors. On the top floor, they will also be able to take in a real-time bird’s eye view of Edinburgh.

Eden Project, Cornwall

If in the past, your children have shown a particular proclivity for all things sci-fi, then you should take them to the Eden Project. This site in Cornwall will take you and your kids on a journey into the future — you will visit landscaped worlds and futuristic domes, you will take a trip through a rainforest biome, and you will come face to face with real-life robots. If your kids are little adrenaline junkies, then they’ll love the SkyWire, England’s longest recorded zip line.
