I am lucky enough to be spending part of January in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. This is my 3rd time here, so it is nice to get very acquainted with this lovely place. Amsterdam should be added to everyone’s bucket list, as their is no place like it in the world. Here is what I have been doing:
Aimlessly walking & exploring the canals. Amsterdam is the perfect place to just wander the streets and explore the many side streets, shops, cafes and more.
Trying Dutch Foods…
...like this famous stroopwafel cookie…
…and Dutch Pancakes. This one was topped with bacon, cheese & tomato.
You will also see “doner” on every corner. As well as fries!
Indonesia food is very popular…
…as is Argentinian.
…but don’t forget all of the Dutch sweets.
I checked out the Erotic Museum, featuring erotic art from around the world.
One of my favorites was the John Lennon lithographs he did for Yoko Ono, and presented them to her on their wedding night as a gift. They were banned in several countries due to their erotic nature.
I love the hotel- The Sofitel Grand is in the perfect location.
It beautifully mixes old world charm and modern elegance.
…their drinks aren’t half bad either.
