Get out
Celebrate Earth Day by getting closer to nature and get outside! Hike, bike, camp or just take a walk.
Disconnect
Clean up the park/beach – Get your family and friends to pitch in to clean up in your own neighborhood or a local beach. There are organizations that set up Earth Day cleanups at their local beaches, parks, roadsides, and other locations.
Ditch the car – Reduce your carbon footprint by walking, riding your bike or taking public transit instead of driving yourself. Also provides an opportunity to carpool with your colleagues or other parents.
Spring clean – Find out what products in your home are risky to the environment and commit to replacing them. There are natural alternatives for cleaners, body products, air fresheners, etc. Just make sure to dispose of any harmful products properly.
Recycle
Did you know that more than 80 billion pieces of clothing are produced worldwide each year, 75% of which will end up in landfills? That means 60 billion items pollute our earth every year. What can you do to help the planet? Reduce the number of new clothes purchased, recycle used clothing by donating or selling and reuse by purchasing pre-owned clothing.
