There is a multitude of products on the market that all claim to revitalize your skin and help keep it looking young. There are also several natural alternatives that are supposed to help you bring back the moisture and shine to your face. However, there are a few things that you can do to stop some of the damage being done in the first place. So, as well as trying all these products, why not also try to stop some of these habits?
Sun Exposure
There have been several studies that have shown the effect too much sun could have on the skin. Despite this, many people still go out in the sun without the right type of sunscreen. You need a sun factor that will stop those harmful rays from affecting your skin; then it won’t cause the type of damage that leads to premature aging of the skin and even skin cancer. Even if it isn’t a particularly hot day, it can still be bad for you, so remember to wear sunscreen and a hat if possible.
Smoking
Everyone knows the effects smoking can have on the body including the skin. It can also cause you to have yellow teeth, bad breath and, of course, increase your risk of cancer. The best thing to do is to try and cut out the cigarettes by using some of the products designed to help you quit. You can also try using alternatives such as vaping from companies such as Mount Baker Vapor. Not only will it improve your health, but it will also improve your skin.
Sleeping
There seems to be a no-win situation when it comes to sleep. There are studies that have found if you don’t get enough sleep, it can cause premature aging of the skin, especially on the face. Of course, many people would accept that not enough sleep is bad for you. However, there is also evidence to suggest that if you sleep in the same position too long, that it too can cause premature wrinkles. Therefore, the best advice would be to keep moving in your sleep and to get plenty of rest. To do this, change position every once in a while, and whenever you wake up.
Alcohol
Along with smoking, too much alcohol can also cause you many problems as well as wrinkles. When you drink alcohol, it causes the skin in your face to puff up a little, although, after the alcohol has worn off, your skin shrinks back and wrinkles because of the stretching. While a little in moderation might be ok, too much could lead to wrinkles.
Moisture
One of the most important things to keep your skin moist and supple is moisture. Dry skin will soon become cracked, red and start to wrinkle. By applying moisturizer every day, you can reduce the risk of dry skin and wrinkles.
If you try to avoid all the bad things such as too much sun, smoking, drinking and lack of sleep, you may avoid premature skin aging.
