If you are planning to attend a wedding anytime soon, whether as the bride, bridesmaid, or just a guest, use the following tips to make certain you look amazing when the day gets here.

Don’t starve yourself.

In an effort to look slim and svelte on their wedding day, many people make the same common mistake. They slash their caloric intake to a bare minimum several weeks before the big day. Unfortunately, this can have the opposite effect.

If you severely cut calories, your metabolism will think your body is starving itself. So it will hold on to every calorie, making it even harder for you to lose weight.

Your best option is to eat three healthy meals, along with two snacks each day. That way your metabolism will stay fired up and the pounds will safely melt away.”

Of course, there is another big problem associated with severely limiting your intake of calories. This type of diet is almost impossible to stick with for any period of time, making you more likely to overeat at some point, leaving you feeling guilty and stressed.

Get plenty of fiber in your diet.

According to Dr. Arthur Agatston, best-selling author of The South Beach Diet, adding fiber to your diet is crucial for weight loss because, “Most of us eat half the fiber we really need.”

Fiber is critical for weight loss for two reasons. First, it increases the pace at which food moves through your body. Second, foods that are rich in fiber tend to fill you up quickly, which helps you reduce cravings and snacking between meals.

When you are getting ready for a wedding, add plenty of fiber rich foods to your diet, including vegetables, fruits, beans (butter beans, chick peas, and kidney beans are a good option), and whole wheat pasta and bread. You can also include a fiber-rich cereal to your diet, such as bran flakes.

Give up the alcohol.

There’s one thing that experts completely agree on when it comes to weight loss. Giving up alcohol is the easiest way to lose weight without having to make any changes to your diet.

“A glass of wine contains around 180 calories. So it’s no good giving the cheesecake a miss if you’re still drinking” both at and between mealtimes.

If you absolutely can’t go without any type of alcohol, opt for a glass of vodka or gin with slimline tonic, which contains around 50 calories. However, around two weeks before the wedding, make every effort to give it up completely.

Eat eggs every chance you get.

Recently, a study found that eating eggs has the potential to speed up weight loss. Study participants who ate two eggs for breakfast ended up eating 400 fewer calories a day than those who didn’t.

Eggs have an incredibly high protein content. And protein rich foods act as a natural appetite suppressant.” In addition to eggs, chicken, fish, milk, tofu, and yogurt are excellent sources of protein.

Consider your Teeth

The reality is you will be smiling on your wedding day and this means looking after your teeth. Whether you decide to just get a dental visit, get your teeth whitened or look into a procedure such as Damon braces, that’s up to you. But take a closer look at your dental care beforehand for best effect.

Eat your way to gorgeous skin.

For a smooth, glowing complexion, be sure to eat foods that are known for enhancing your skin’s appearance. For example, the monounsaturated fat in avocados plumps out your skin and gets rid of fine lines and wrinkles. For the best results, eat them at least twice a week. If you don’t like avocados by themselves, add them to your salads or sandwiches.

Vitamin C is also good for your skin, so add carrots, pomegranates, and juice to your diet. In addition, for good skin, nails, and hair, eat plenty of almonds and Brazil nuts.

Don’t be lazy.

It’s time to get moving. However, this doesn’t mean you have to join a gym or hire a personal trainer. According to Cornel Chin, a well-known celebrity trainer, “Aim to do some form of cardio every day for at least 30 minutes. That means any exercise that speeds up your heart rate and makes you sweat – think jogging, power walking, cycling, or tennis.”

If you are a gym member, head to a body pump class to try out weights. If you’re not a member of a gym, opt for lifting light weights at home. Building up your lean muscle will speed up your metabolism, increasing how fast you burn fat.

If you’re concerned about bulking up, don’t be. According to Cornel, “Women don’t have enough testosterone to bulk up from moderate weightlifting.”

By the way, this is not the time to worry about your legs, which will most likely be covered up. Focus on your arms instead. For example, do 10 “female” press ups (back straight, knees on the floor) every night, along with 20 bicep curls.

To do a biceps curl, grab a light weight in each hand and stand up with your back straight. Raise the weight up towards your shoulder, before lowering it down to the sides of your thighs.

The wedding season is definitely among us. How
