Making money through blogging has become a popular career for people who love to write and are able to build a decent portfolio and client base. Bloggers can make excellent money from their words, and this can form the basis for expanding beyond one person and becoming a blogging business.

But just saying you’re a blogging business isn’t enough. You need to show that you’re for real, and to do that, you need to add legitimacy to your business. Here are a few ways that blogging business owners can do just that:

Let People See Who You Are

People like to put a face to the name, and in order to add further legitimacy to your blogging business, you should have an ‘About Us/Me’ page but details your story, what your skills and expertise are, and what experience you have. You could also invest in some professional photography to add to your website so that people can see that you are a real person who is prepared to put themselves front and enter in their business, and not be anonymous. This will all go towards creating a personal connection between you and your blogging clients.

You could also create a FAQ page for your blogging business where you answer popular questions about blogging and the business at large, or create video content where you give helpful advice to fellow bloggers. Either way, people like to see that you are real and authentic before they invest in your services.

Get Testimonials From Clients

If your clients are telling you that your blogging services have increased conversions on their website by 67%, ask them to give that information to you in writing, in the form of a testimonial (or an online review via your Facebook page or Google listing). Testimonials are sought after by businesses because they add legitimacy to what they say they can deliver, which is far more likely to convert customers than simply giving your word.

Give Something Away for Free

Bloggers can grow their client list and email subscribers by giving something away for free via their website. This can come in many forms, including:

  • YouTube video series giving tips on how to builda successful blog (password protected)
  • A downloadable eBook giving tips on how to increase web traffic by blogging (or a similar kind of guide – something to help drive traffic to your website)
  • Access to a series of emails that will ultimately create a guide that helps clients to achieve more sales, traffic, clients, etc. from blogging

By giving something away for free, you areinforming your customers/clients that you are not just in it for the moneyand that you have an abundance of knowledge that you are more than willing to give away for freebecause there is plenty more in the locker that people will have to pay for.

You should also consider guest blogging on other sites that cover the business of blogging. This will show that you are an authority on the industry, and when people search your name (or businesses name) on Google, they will find plenty of content that shows you know what you are talking about, and that feature on some of the industries most trusted blogs and websites.
